This is, very reasonably, a common question. I have outlined some of this in my dedicated FAQs page but I’d like to go into more detail in this blog post about what organising and carrying out the photoshoot involves.
Pre-Shoot Communication
I ask all models to complete a model release form, this sets the goals of the shoot as well as agreement of some important rules in order to ensure a safe environment for model and photographer. Once complete, I will get in contact with the model and we will begin to find availability to work together.
I often shoot in hotel rooms, meaning that some advance organisation is required in order to organise the space to limit costs.
On the day
As I will shoot with multiple models on one day, models are assigned a photoshoot window (often 1.5 hours). It is important for the model to be on time as unfortunately if this is missed, it will not be possible to re-arrange due to the impact on other models.
Firstly if we have not met in person before we will spend 5-10 minutes introducing ourselves in order to break the ice. We’ll then go over some of the shoot ideas, and I will confirm with you the shoot requirements (in terms of respecting any limits in particular), the goal of the shoot, and the rules.
We’ll then do a few test shots to relax into it before proceeding to carry out the shoot ideas previously discussed. It is only at this point that there will be confirmation that the model is comfortable with the nudity before removing their clothes.
If agreed, some behind the scenes photos and videos will be uploaded to Social Media to generate interest and drive followers to our platforms.
After the Photoshoot
Initial set of basic edited photos will be sent to the model via email or text/whatsapp a few days to 1 week after the photoshoot. Following that, some more detailed/edited photos will be sent. At this point the model can provide some feedback or request a few further edits.
At this point the media can be shared online and we can plan the next shoot!
